Claude Code
TL;DR
- Nothing actionable today. 2.1.185 softens the stream-stall hint wording and doubles the silence threshold from 10s to 20s before it appears (more below).
New in 2.1.185
2.1.185 (June 21, 2026)
- The stream-stall hint now reads "Waiting for API response · will retry in ..." instead of "No response from API · Retrying in ...", and triggers after 20s of silence instead of 10s
Notes
The stall-hint threshold change matters more than the wording. 2.1.144 added automatic retry on pre-response stream stalls, and 2.1.179 fixed mid-stream connection drops so partial responses are preserved. The original 10s trigger was aggressive enough to fire during normal Opus extended thinking, producing false-positive "No response" hints that looked like errors. Doubling it to 20s should eliminate most of those. If you were seeing spurious stall hints on long reasoning turns, this is the fix.
